Resources for World Mission Sunday-- Feb 22, 2009

In 1997, the General convention of the Episcopal Church designated the last Sunday in Epiphany as World Mission Sunday. This year World Mission Sunday falls on February 22, and the theme is "Building Up the Body of Christ" and support of the missionaries of the Episcopal Church. Here are some resources:

Outreach in ECR - Acting Globally AND Locally

Barbara Snyder, St. Mark's, Santa Clara, has authored two articles we are featuring on the World Mission Network Blog. The articles describe the how Barbara and Don Snyder are working to fulfill the call to service locally and abroad through work with Habitat for Humanity and in healthcare centers. The articles are posted in the"Mission Stories" section, below right. The pictures are of Barbara and Don (and crew) from their recent Habit for Humanity trip to Poland. Barbara is also an author, having written a book: Thomas the Apostle, a historical fiction account of St. Thomas' missionary journey to India.
